‘DWTS’ recap: Surprising celebrity sent home in stunning elimination

There are still 10 couples competing for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy dancing with the Stars season 32. Celebrities will perform dances inspired by a pivotal year that defined who they are. At the end of the evening another couple will be eliminated.

Mira Sorvino AND Gleb Savchenko are first with their contemporary routine “Time After Time” by Cyndi Lauper. Mira’s most memorable year is 2004, the year her daughter, Matthew Backus, Is born. Mattea joins her mother and Gleb for the sweet presentation. “She was so happy to see him.” Derek Hough He says. Bruno Tonoli says he “loved the mirror image” with Mattea, and Carrie Ann Inaba He adds that the performance was “very sincere”. Mira and Gleb scores: CarrieAnn = 7; Derek = 8; Bruno = 7. Total score = 22 out of 30.

Ariana Madix He picked 2023 as his most memorable year. Despite Scandoval’s anguish, she eventually found herself. Arianna and Pasha Pashkov dances an amazing Viennese waltz to the tune of “Happier Than Ever” by Billie Eilish. Bruno praises the fact that the presentation was a “powerful waltz with a message.” Carrie Ann has some criticisms of “good” dancing in general. Derek agrees with Carrie Ann’s criticisms, but says Ariana connects with these dances “so beautifully.” Ariana and Pasha’s rating: CarrieAnn = 8; Derek = 8; Bruno = 8. Total score = 24 out of 30.

Charity Lawson AND Artem Chigvintsev Join us for an unforgettable contemporary experience Selena Gomez “Lose yourself to love me.” The dance is inspired by Charity’s exit from a toxic relationship in 2022. Carrie Ann says this “spectacular” performance is what “everyone will remember this season.” Derek praises the fact that Charity dances with “so much strength and so much courage.” He describes the performance as “excellent”. Charity and Artem scores: CarrieAnn = 10; Derek = 9; Bruno = 9. Total score = 28 out of 30. Top 10 of the season!

Alyson Hannigan AND Sasha Farber dances a beautiful Viennese waltz to the tune of “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran. She dedicates the show to her husband, Alexei Denisof. Derek reveals he noticed a lot of improvements this week in his “beautiful” performance. Bruno says Alyson has been “smarter, smoother” this week. Carrie Ann insists on telling Alyson not to let any criticism “defeat” her because she works so hard. Alyson and Sasha score: CarrieAnn = 7; Derek = 7; Bruno = 7. Total score = 21 out of 30.

Harry Jowsey AND Rylee Arnold approaching a contemporary of “Keep Your Head Up” by Andy Grammer. His most memorable year is 2020, the year he became famous Too hot to handle and struggled with fame. Bruno tells Harry that he is an “incredible athlete”, but that he needs to work on being less stiff. Carrie Ann admits that Harry “took a step back” this week and says he’s more into dancing when he’s around Rylee. Derek notes that Harry has been a “fantastic partner” to Rylee when it comes to these lifts. Harry and Rylee Ratings: CarrieAnn = 6; Derek = 6; Bruno = 6. Total score = 18 out of 30.

Current and previous DWTS professionals gather for an impressive tribute to Len Goodman defined as “Río Luna” by Enrico Mancini. This dance pays homage to the beloved judge, who passed away earlier this year. At the end of the presentation several professionals cry. Carrie Ann has to comfort a crying Bruno at the judges’ table.

Jason Mraz AND Daniella Karagach dazzles with his incredible fast pace in “On the Road Again” by Willy Nelson. Carrie Ann notes that “it’s just beautiful to see the collaboration between Jason and Daniella.” She says Jason is “superior” in the competition, but has noticed a “wave” in her performance. Derek calls the performance “really impressive” and Bruno praises the amount of content included. Ratings from Jason and Daniella: CarrieAnn = 9; Derek = 9; Bruno = 9. Total score = 27 out of 30.

Lele Pons AND Brandon Armstrong they bring the emotion with their contemporary in “I Stand By You” dei the suitors. Her performance is dedicated to Lele’s husband. Derek tells Lele that he is impressed with her progress each week. “That was your best dance,” Carrie Ann says. Lele and Brandon’s scores: CarrieAnn = 8; Derek = 8; Bruno = 8. Total score = 24 out of 30.

Xochitl Gomez AND Val Chmerkovsky shine with their beautiful Viennese waltz to the rhythm of “Until I find you” by Esteban Sanchez. Bruno tells Xóchitl that he “captivated us all” with that beautiful performance. Carrie Ann recognizes Xóchitl’s talent, but she says she noticed a hesitation. As for Derek, she hasn’t seen any fluctuations in the routine. She tells Xóchitl that “the maturity of the movement was perfection.” Xochitl and Val scores: CarrieAnn = 9; Derek = 10; Bruno = 9. Total score = 28 out of 30. This is the top 10 of the season!

Maurizio Umansky AND Emma Slate come together for a magnificent contemporary performance of “Rise Up” by Andra’s day. “It was beautiful,” Carrie Ann tells Mauricio. Derek says he is “surprised” by Mauricio’s commitment to dance. “You gave it your all,” Bruno tells Mauricio, before adding that this was his “best dance yet.” Mauricio and Emma’s scores: CarrieAnn = 8; Derek = 8; Bruno = 8. Total score = 24 out of 30.

Barry Williams He is determined to return with his pasodoble. Barry and Peta Murgatroyd takes the ferocity to a new level with his performance set to “Born to Be Wild” by Steppe wolf. Derek calls it “the greatest redemption dance ever.” He also notes that “Len would have loved that dance.” Bruno stands up and says that Barry “didn’t make any mistakes.” Barry and Peta’s scores: CarrieAnn = 8; Derek = 8; Bruno = 8. Total score = 24 out of 30.

Alfonso Ribeiro notes that this is the “closest vote” of the season so far. The final three consist of Harry and Rylee, Alyson and Sasha, and Mira and Gleb. The couple returning home is… LOOK AND GLEB!
