Martin Scorsese’S The Flower Moon Assassins it was an amazing movie, it’s insanely long and you feel the length of it, but it was masterfully made. I just want to say it Lilly Gladstone he stole the movie and gave an incredible performance! While Leonardo Dicaprio is getting a lot of praise, he definitely gives a better performance in the film.
There is a funny scene in the film where we see DiCaprio leaning on a chair Robert De Niro spanks him repeatedly with a wooden paddle. Even De Niro has to fuck him hard! There’s power behind those spankings!
Photography director Rodrigo Prieto recently talked about this scene in an interview with Insider and revealed that DiCaprio wore butt padding for the scene. Butt also recalled thinking as he watched De Niro hit him, “Oh, he must hurt.” Prieto talked about how DiCaprio was ready for anything.
“I don’t think it was in the first script. This was something that was added and is shocking in the film. I remember doing them several times and thinking, “Oh, that must hurt.” There was padding on the butt. But you could tell De Niro was really hitting him… Leo is ready for so much. He will do anything.
I like to think that the scene was added after Scorsese and De Niro got annoyed with DiCaprio improvising some of his dialogue. It was recently reported that they would roll their eyes and that De Niro didn’t even want to speak when DiCaprio did. I think it would be funny if they thought they were teaching him a lesson by spanking him on screen. I doubt that’s the case, but I just want to think so.
The spanking scene occurs about halfway through the film after DiCaprio’s character, Ernest Burkhart, makes a mistake in something his uncle told him to do. De Niro’s character, William Hale, decides to punish his nephew by bending him over and spanking him.
The scene definitely brought out laughter in the theater!
