‘DWTS’ recap: Disney night ends with shocking elimination

dancing with the Stars Season 32 celebrates Disney’s Centennial with an epic evening of musical performances from the beloved soundtracks of Disney’s most beloved films. The first performance of the evening comes Maurizio Umansky AND Emma Slate.

Mauricio and Emma begin the evening with a pasodoble to the tune of “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” by Fantasy. “It was really fantastic” Derek Hough he says to the couple. Bruno Tonoli He tells Mauricio that he has “polished the dance floor to perfection”, but wants Mauricio to branch out even more in the future. Mauricio and Emma’s scores: CarrieAnn = 7; Derek = 6; Bruno = 6. Total score = 19 out of 30.

Mira Sorvino AND Gleb Savchenko Dance a fairytale waltz to the tune of “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes” by Cinderella. Bruno tells Mira that ballroom dancing suits him very well. Carrie Ann declares that Mira is now “energizing the queen.” Derek says the performance was “clean, classic and relaxed”. Mira and Gleb scores: CarrieAnn = 7; Derek = 7; Bruno = 7. Total score = 21 out of 30.

Barry Williams AND Peta Murgatroyd travel a little with your jazz on “He’s a Tramp” by The Lady and the Tramp. Although Carrie Ann says the show was “Barry’s best dance yet,” there were a few mistakes in the routine. However, Derek appreciates that Barry “kept moving forward” despite some challenges. Barry and Peta’s scores: CarrieAnn = 6; Derek = 6; Bruno = 6. Total score = 18 out of 30.

Jason Mraz AND Daniella Karagach Wow with his magical foxtrot to the rhythm of “A Whole New World” by Aladdin. Derek has some advice for Jason moving forward, but says the performance was still “beautiful.” Bruno praises that Jason had “a lot of poise” during his “magic carpet ride.” Ratings from Jason and Daniella: CarrieAnn = 8; Derek = 8; Bruno = 8. Lele Pons AND Brandon Armstrong they bring the romance with their rumba on “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” by The Lion King. Bruno likes that Lele “corrects everything,” he says, adding that her rumba was “sensual and sophisticated.” Lele and Brandon’s scores: CarrieAnn = 7; Derek = 7; Bruno = 8. Total score = 22 out of 30.

Alyson Hannigan AND Sasha Farber encourage “Be our guest” with The beauty and the Beast. Carrie Ann notes that Alyson was sometimes “off the beat.” Derek adds that the performance lacked “a little bit of substance,” but he loves Alyson’s bubbly personality. Alyson and Sasha score: CarrieAnn = 6; Derek = 6; Bruno = 6. Total score = 18 out of 30.

Harry Jowsey AND Rylee Arnold dazzle with your fast pace to “You’ve got a friend in me” al toy story. Derek tells Harry that he was “full of confidence” in this latest performance. Bruno likes the fact that Harry seems to be “having fun” and he thinks Harry is improving. Carrie Ann says Harry and Rylee truly captured the “Disney magic” with their performance. Harry and Rylee Ratings: CarrieAnn = 7; Derek = 7; Bruno = 7. Total score = 21 out of 30.

Xochitl Gomez AND Val Chmerkovsky stuns with his ferocious pasodoble to the sound of “Un Poco Loco” by Coconut. “You never lost control,” praises Bruno. “It was awesome.” Carrie Ann adds that the performance was “fantastic.” Derek stands up and declares, “You’re an artist. Xochitl and Val scores: CarrieAnn = 9; Derek = 9; Bruno = 9. Total score = 27 out of 30.

Adriano Peterson AND Britt Stewart Bring some sweetness to the dance floor with your Viennese Waltz to “Baby Mine” by Dumbo. “This was the most exciting dance of the evening. It was so pure,” says Carrie Ann, before adding, “It was truly beautiful.” Derek gives Adrian a standing ovation. “You literally transformed before our eyes,” says Derek. “It really touched me.” Bruno concludes telling Adrián: “You have found your wings and taken flight.” Adrian and Britt’s ratings: CarrieAnn = 7; Derek = 7; Bruno = 7. Total score = 25 out of 30.

Ariana Madix AND Pasha Pashkov Take on the season’s first contemporary “Into the Unknown.” Frozen II. “It was amazing,” Derek told Ariana and Pasha. Carrie Ann says Ariana “brought the story to life,” but she admits she wanted to see “more freedom in some of the movements.” Ariana and Pasha’s rating: CarrieAnn = 8; Derek = 9; Bruno = 8. Total score = 25 out of 30.

Here comes the last performance of the evening Charity Lawson AND Artem Chigvintsev. They dance a beautiful waltz to the tune of “Parte de tu mundo”. The little Mermaid. Bruno tells Charity that the show was a “wonderful, uplifting waltz” once she recovered. Derek adds: “It was just wonderful.” Charity and Artem scores: CarrieAnn = 8; Derek = 8; Bruno = 8. Total score = 24 out of 30.

The final three couples are Adrian and Britt, Lele and Brandon and Barry and Peta. The eliminated couple is… Adrian Peterson and Britt Stewart.
