Director Tim Miller explains why he wanted to work on Eli Roth’s BORDERLANDS

Director of Deadpool Tim Miller he stepped in to direct the filming Eli Roth’S Borderlands film while Roth was busy working on his Thanksgiving horror movie. It was explained that Roth couldn’t fit filming into his schedule, so Miller came in to finish the film.

During a recent interview with Collider, Miller talked about directing the shoot and explained why he wanted to work on the film, saying:

“It was an interesting experience to come and reshoot a film that isn’t yours. It’s a liberating experience where you feel like I’m just here to help you wherever I can. But the main reason, aside from the fact that I have a great affection for the video game industry and that I want to see every video game adaptation succeed, is that, I’ll be honest, I wanted to work with Cate Blanchett and I wanted to work with Kevin [Hart] and Jamie Lee Curtis. And Ariana Greenblatt, the young woman who plays Tiny Tina, is amazing, as everyone knows from the movie Barbie. So it was a great experience all round. I felt a little rusty, so I was happy to get back on the bike. The film gets up and moves. It’s a nice ride.

Roth previously addressed the film as “nonsense” and also explained what he intended to do with the film, saying:

“They’re bananas. I really wanted to keep the spirit of the film in the spirit of the games. Randy Pitchford, the creator, was there with me every step of the way. If I had my idea for a joke that wasn’t part of Borderlands canon, he’d be like, “Oh, that’s cool.” Claptrap absolutely would.; For all the character stuff I wanted them to do, I was like, ‘Okay, would Lilith do something like that?’ Or, “Is this a Tiny Tina move?” He says, “This is great.” We should do it in the game. It’s really, really cool.” So yeah, the movie is fun. It’s wild. It was a huge, huge undertaking, especially during Covid. People are going to have to wait a little longer for that, but I’m really, really excited about it. .”
