Millie Bobby Brown says STRANGER THINGS stops her from ‘creating stories’ she’s ‘passionate about’

Millie Bobby Brown he’s so ready for Stranger things to finally reach the end. The series that launched her career has become something of a chore for her and she’s ready to “get out of here” so she can start developing projects of her own that she’s passionate about. Safe! I understand! She’s really about to take her career to the next level, and with as much time as Stranger Things takes, it makes sense that she’s ready to move on. During a recent interview with Glamour, Brown explained that she was ready to say goodbye to the show:

“When you’re ready, you say, ‘Okay, let’s do it. We face this last year as seniors. Let’s get out of here’ Stranger Things takes a long time to shoot and prevents me from creating stories I’m passionate about. So I’m ready to say, ‘Thank you and goodbye.'”

She acknowledges that the show has given her “the tools and resources to be a better actress.” But she is not sad that everything is coming to an end, she explains: “No one is dying. When it ends, I will still be able to see these people.”

Stranger Things will end with season five and while some actors can’t wait for the show to end, like Brown and Davide Portosome actors, like Joe Keery, have mixed feelings. During a previous interview, Keery said it feels like it’s time for the show to end, but she also said it won’t be easy to say goodbye:

“It feels like the time has come. It’s not going to be over easily. I mean, I owe my whole career to being on that show and every opportunity I’ve had since then is because of that show.

“So it’s very convoluted. There’s a sense of relief, there’s a sense of sadness. I guess my goal is to just absorb it as much as I can while we’re doing it, and not take anything for granted because it’s been an amazing journey with amazing people. And then once we’re done, moving forward and trying to hold on to the joy that we felt while we were making it… Everything has a beginning, a middle and an end. It’ll be nice for this story to end too.”

Filming on the show’s fifth and final season was originally supposed to begin earlier this summer, before strikes at the WGA and SAG-AFTRA delayed principal photography indefinitely. It is unknown when we will see the release of the fifth season.

When it comes to the final season, co-creator Ross Duffer shared that this final chapter of the story will be an emotional arc for Will Byers (Noah Grappa) and which will tie the entire series together. Ross Duffer explained:

“Will will take center stage again [season] 5. This emotional arc for him is what will hopefully unite the entire series. Will is used to being the young one, the introverted one, the one who is protected. So part of his journey isn’t just sexuality — it’s Will coming out as a young man.”

When previously describing Stranger Things 5, the writing team described the next chapter of the story as “like seasons 1 and 4 had a baby. And then that child was injected with steroids.”

While we don’t know much about what the story will entail, we do know that the final episodes “return to season one.” Matt Duffer he previously said, “We’re starting to see him come of age, really, which has been challenging for a number of reasons; some of which are supernatural. But you’re starting to see him come into his own.”

Ross Duffer he added, “I think you’ll see that with a couple of character arcs, not just with Will. But also with Steve and Nancy, and his relationship with Jonathan, where things aren’t completely resolved. The characters maybe have made some steps, as in Will’s case, but that journey isn’t over yet. All of that will play a huge role as we try to wrap this thing up next season.”

Noah Grappa he also said, “I can just tell you that I’m very, very excited for what’s to come. I think they’ve done a great job with Will’s character this season, and they’ve handled everything they need to do beautifully. The way they they closed the show is just perfect: the story began with Will and will end with Will.”

The show is set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980s, and follows a group of friends as they investigate supernatural events and government conspiracies as they plunge the small Midwestern town into an apocalyptic nightmare. The series has been praised for its strong cast, twisting plots and nostalgic references to 1980s pop culture, which Hamilton fits perfectly into.
