Prime Video has released the first teaser trailer for Eddie Murphythe next Christmas adventure film Candy Cane Street. In it, Murphy is given the opportunity to make a magical Christmas wish, but there are some big consequences with the deal he makes. This looks like it will be a fun holiday movie!
The film is about a man on a mission to win his neighborhood’s annual Christmas decorating contest. “After Chris (Murphy) inadvertently makes a deal with a mischievous elf named Pepper (Jillian Bell) to increase his chances of winning, he casts a spell that brings the 12 days of Christmas to life and wreaks havoc on the entire city. At the risk of ruining his family’s holidays, Chris, his wife Carol (Tracee Ellis Ross), and their three children must race against time to break Pepper’s spell, battle deviously magical characters, and save Christmas for everyone.
The film reunites Murphy with his Boomerang director Reginald Hudlin and he is also the protagonist Thaddeus J. Mixson, Ken Marino, Nick Offerman, Robin Thede, Chris Redd, Genneya Walton, Madison Thomas, Anjelah Johnson-Reyes, Lombardo Boiardo, DC Young Fly, Danielle Pinnock, Timothy Simons, Riki Lindhome AND Stephen Tobolowsky.
Hudlin said in a statement: “I’ve wanted to make a Christmas movie my whole life, but I wanted to do something fresh and surprising. Eddie Murphy and this hilarious cast really bring the fun, it’s super Christmassy and will hit you right in the feels.
Candy Cane Street will debut on Prime Video on December 1st.
