AMC has released the first trailer for Orphan Black: Echoeswhich is an original series set in the Orphan Black universe. Kristen Ritter (Jessica Jones) stars in and produces the series and looks like it will take audiences on a wild and emotional journey. The trailer was released during New York Comic Con.
The series is set in the near future and the story “dives deeply into the exploration of the scientific manipulation of human existence. It follows a group of women as they become intertwined in each other’s lives and embark on an emotional journey, unraveling the mystery of their identities and uncovering a heartbreaking story of love and betrayal.
The series is also the protagonist Keeley Hawes, Amanda FixAND Avan Jog. Recent additions to the cast include Kihlstedt (A teacher, a Mississippi), Hiroyuki Liao (Barry, The Abandonment), AND ReedDiamond (Better call Saul, Mosquito Coast),
Kihlstedt will play Eleanor, “a brilliant and tenacious neuroscientist who is deeply loyal to those close to her, including her wife and their son. Raised by working class parents, she was never given anything; she is devoted to her work and gets up every day with a singular goal to make a breakthrough in her pursuit of her.
Liao will play Darros, “an extremely powerful self-made billionaire with a troubled cultivation of rare mushrooms to enhance human biology. Soft-spoken but with an undeniable presence, Darros is a man who always gets what he wants, no matter the cost.
Diamond will recur as Tom, “the ex-military, no-nonsense head of corporate security for the Darros Foundation.”
Anna Fishko (Fear the walking dead) is the creator, writer, showrunner and executive producer of John Fawcettthe co-creator of the original series, who also serves as director and executive producer.
The series debuts on AMC, AMC+ and BBC America in 2024.
