Paramount+ has released the first intriguing trailer for its upcoming horror mystery drama series The girls on fire. The series is the protagonist Walking Dead alum Samantha Morton AND Ruby Stokes (Bridgerton), and the story is set in a village plagued by a dark and turbulent history. I like these types of stories and it looks like it will be a great series that I will enjoy.
In the series, “When a vicar and her fifteen-year-old daughter move to Chapel Croft in the hope of a new start, their new start gets off to a bad start as they discover the village is full of conspiracies and secrets.” These conspiracies and secrets revolve around two young girls who were burned at the stake in the city.
The film was based on the novel by CJ Tudor and was adapted from Hans Rosenfeldt (Marcella), with Carlo Martino (Skins) AND Kieron Hawkes (Ripper Street) directed. The cast includes Corrado Khan (Peaky Blinders), Rupert Graves (Sherlock, Emma), Elodie Grace Orkin (Stranger things), Janie Dee, David Dawson (The Last Kingdom), Paul Bradley (EastEnders), Jane Lapotaire (The Crown, Marie Curie), Jack Roth (Bohemian Rhapsody), Bring Mollie (Sanditon), Safia Oakley-Green (The origin, Sherwood), Beth Cordingly (Learning to walk again), AND John Macmillian (House of the Dragon).
The girls on fire will debut on Paramount+ in the UK on October 19. There is no confirmation on a US debut.
