First reactions to EXPEND4BLES calling the film “barely watchable” and “instantly forgettable”

The first reactions to Sylvester Stalloneis the fourth episode of the Expendables have surfaced and many reviews criticize the film for how badly it did. From the start, this has been a ridiculous franchise, and the whole point is pointless, action-packed fun that you don’t really need to think about. It’s just stupid fun. This is exactly what I expected Consumables. This franchise knows exactly what it is and doesn’t pretend to be anything other than that.

That being said, it’s funny when critics say the movie has a weak script because any of these movies had strong scripts!? However, there are a couple of critics out there who liked it, and I’ve included their reactions to the film as well. Check out some of the reactions below and let us know what you think! Did you expect it to be an amazing movie!?

Christy Lemire and Alonso Duralde of Breakfast All Day echoed similar sentiments regarding the film’s visual effects, with Duralde stating that they are “among the worst I’ve ever seen in what we would call a major motion picture.” He continued: “There’s a whole part where a plane is landing and things are exploding, and it looks like a video game from 1992.”

The next adrenaline-pumping adventure in the series will follow the Expendables team caught up in a conspiracy that will spark a nuclear conflict between Russia and the United States.

The synopsis reads: “A new generation of stars joins the world’s best action stars for an adrenaline-fueled adventure in Expend4bles. Gathering together as an elite mercenary team, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Coutureand Sylvester Stallone team up for the first time Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Jacob Scipio, Levy TranAND Andy Garcia. Armed with every weapon they can get their hands on and the skills to use them, the Mercenaries are the world’s last line of defense and the team that is called when all other options are off the table. But new team members with new styles and tactics will give the term “new blood” a whole new meaning.”

Stallone has previously spoken about his approach to the film’s action, explaining that it will be more “simplistic” and focus more on brute force. He says audiences will “be amazed” by the intensity of the action scenes, so that’s something to look forward to!

Scott Waugh (Need for speed) directs Expend4blesand the screenplay was written by Spenser Cohenwith revisions by Max Adams AND John Joseph Connolly. Expend4bles will be released in theaters on September 22nd.
