New Trailer for THE HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLAD OF SONGING BIRDS AND SNAKES – “Witness the Rise of Power”

Lionsgate has released a new trailer for the upcoming film The Hunger Games prequel film The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and teases a cold, chilling story that focuses on the early days of The Hunger Games and the beginning of Coriolanus Snow’s rise to power.

Movie stars Rachel Zegler as Lucy Gray Baird and Tom Blyth as Coriolanus Snow, an ambitious boy who eventually becomes the tyrannical leader of the dystopian country of Panem. Even though I’m a Hunger Games fan, for some reason I’m not very interested in this prequel story. Regardless, there are fans who are excited about it.

The film follows “a young Coriolanus who represents the last hope for his declining lineage, the once proud Snow family, fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. With his livelihood threatened, Snow is reluctantly assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird, a tribute from poor District 12,” the synopsis reads. “But after Lucy Gray’s charms captivate the public of Panem, Snow sees an opportunity to change their fate. With everything he’s worked for hanging in the balance, Snow teams up with Lucy Gray to tip the odds in their favor. Battling his instincts for both good and evil, Snow embarks on a race against time to survive and discover whether he will ultimately become a songbird or a snake.

The film also has a great supporting cast including Viola Davis in the role of Dr. Volumnia Gaul, Peter Dinklage, Hunter Schafer, Josh Andres RiveraAND Jason Schwartzmann.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is headed by the franchising director Francesco Lorenzo and will be released in theaters on November 17, 2023.
