Drafthouse Films has released the trailer for a new documentary film titled Mr. Organ, and while it seems to tell an interesting story, it also seems strange and bizarre. I agree 100% because it seems like this thing is going to play out in all kinds of wacky ways.
The film comes from New Zealand journalist and filmmaker David Farrier, who previously directed the strange documentary Tickled as well as Dark Tourist. So you know you’re going to get some weird entertainment with this latest project. Reviews of the film say that “this documentary is completely and insidiously bullshit.”
In Mister Organ Farrier is “unwittingly involved in a dangerous game of cat and mouse with a mysterious man who wreaks havoc in his neighborhood by locking car wheels at a local antique shop. That idiot was Michael Organ, and little did Farrier know that digging deeper into who Organ really was would be a thrilling, tension-filled, three-year investigation – ultimately leading to a trail of multiple court cases, inflated claims of royal blood, ruined lives and at least one stolen boat in this incredible true story of psychological warfare.”
This film initially premiered at Fantastic Fest 2022 and debuted in New Zealand. Drafthouse Films will now debut Mister Organ in select US theaters on October 6, 2023.
