Robert Kirkman Talks INVINCIBLE Season 2 Says It ‘Will Feel Much Bigger Than Season 1’

As we continue to wait Invincible Season 2 will be released, creator Robert Kirkmann is trying to get fans excited about the show’s return. One thing he wants to make clear is that this second season will be much bigger than the first. During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, she said:

“I think Season 1 of Invincible is a clear representation of what you’re going to get from this show, but overall Season 2 is going to feel a lot bigger than Season 1. The overall story of Invincible that will continue from season to season is about growth and change that Mark goes through as he transitions from adolescence to adulthood… and maybe even old age. So in season two we’ll see him mature and grow a little bit.”

Kirkman continued by teasing Omni-Man’s arc and the terrifying prospect that looms over the story:

“But Omni-Man is also gone, and he couldn’t be more essential to Earth’s survival. I think, if anything, people should be aware that not only did Omni-Man become a threat late in the first season , but it also revealed a larger threat posed by the Viltrumites themselves. That threat will come into play in season 2, and Omni-Man is not there to defend the Earth, especially from its own people. A terrifying prospect that will loom over the series for a long time. time.”

Kirkman also talks about the expansion of the universe in season two and how it will expand on hints at things that were happening in season one. He said:

“Season 2 overall is an opening of the universe, an expansion of the universe. There were hints of things happening in season 1, and we’re actually going to see those things. The Coalition of Planets was mentioned in season 1. The Coalition of Planets is something we’ll see in season 2. And there are bigger things on Earth. There are different factions, different villains, different things happening.

It looks like the story will get even more interesting and we will also see some of the other superheroes take center stage. One of these characters is Atom Eve, and speaking of her Kirkman says:

“Atom Eve is an extremely important character to the series. She becomes more and more involved in the show as we go along, and she was a very popular character in just the first season. When you ask fans who they want to see most, Atom Eve is usually in top of the list. So we thought it would be nice to give some backstory about her and make viewers understand her more. It was a perfect storm narratively, because there’s a lot about Eve’s backstory. revealed in that episode that are very important to the continuation of the show, and also a reason for the fans, why the fans want more of the character. It’s been a gift to the fans to keep them ready for season 2.”

It is then revealed that there is a possibility of seeing more specials featuring other characters from the series in the future. But, for now, Season 2 will have plenty of things for fans to enjoy as we continue to watch the story of Mark and his friends unfold:

“One of the nice things about Invincible is that it’s the same kind of all-encompassing superhero universe that you would see with DC or the MCU, but it all happens in one story. So there are things that will happen at the bottom of the ocean, there are things that “They’ll happen on the moon and in deep space, but it all involves Invincible and it all fits into one story. There will also be the same mundane, everyday human things that Mark has to deal with every day. So a random episode of Invincible could deal with five different aspects weirdness of a superhero universe that you get all at once. But it all makes sense and works in the context of the story because you see it through Mark’s perspective.”

Kirkman continues, “Ultimately what you’re experiencing is Mark’s life and how bizarre it is that this is his world and this is normal for him. But what’s normal for him is funny for us!”

Invincible revolves around 17-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), who is just like every other boy his age, except his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (JK Simmons). The season 1 finale was crazy as it ended with the reveal of Omni-Man’s true twisted intentions. I’m excited to see how the story continues to unfold in Season 2!

The series is also the protagonist Sandra Oh, Zazie Beetz, Gillian Jacobs, Zechariah Quintus, Jason Mantzoukas, Melise, Marco Hamill, Mahershala Ali, Seth Rogenand more.

Invincible The second season will premiere on Prime Video on November 3.
