For the most part Star Wars the fans had fun Dave Filoniit is long awaited Ahsoka series. This was a really fun installment of Star Wars and introduced some interesting new characters. One of these characters is the villain Shib Hatiplayed by Ivanna Sakhno.
He presents himself as a cold-hearted character, full of anger and skilled in the use of force and in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Sakhno spoke about his character’s personality, saying:
“She’s very calculated. She’s impatient, but she’s a seeker. She’s just beginning to find her voice. The actual ship and many aspects of the physical world were built for the show. I remember sitting inside my [cockpit] really [feeling like] my younger self as a child, looking around. All the buttons work and you feel like your childhood dream has come true. You really feel like a pilot on a ship. And you can do it for a living.”
Sakhno went on to reveal how Filoni encouraged her to create the character, saying:
“He really values each person’s opinion. By creating Shin, I felt my involvement was important. Since she’s a new character, we had to create some parts of her from the beginning. With the costume and makeup, it felt like a story.”
Shin is Baylan Skoll’s (Ray Stevenson) apprentice and it was interesting to see their arc unfold. I’m curious to see where he ends up and if Shin’s future in the Star Wars universe goes beyond the Ahsoka series.
