Marvel Studios has a long road ahead of them to get to their great epic Avengers: Secret Warsbut they’ll have some fun developing it over the next few years.
Avengers: Secret Wars It doesn’t have an officially attached director yet, but there are rumors about it Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy it could be the guy sitting in the director’s chair. During a recent interview on ET, Levy was asked about the rumor, and as you might expect, he played coy about his future with Marvel. In fact, he’s so coy about it, that he must at least be in the running, because he could have easily said no. But he didn’t. Instead he said:
“I read those rumors and that’s all I’ll say.”
If he’s not in talks or connected, why doesn’t he just say no!? Something that the president of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige clarified is this Joe and Antonio Russo he will not return to directing Secret Warseven though that’s the project they said they would return to direct.
Secret Wars was Marvel Comics’ first major crossover event series and made its debut in 1984. The Secret Wars story centered on Marvel’s greatest heroes and villains transported to Battleworld thanks to a powerful being known as the Beyonder. It is on Battleworld that heroes and villains can decide once and for all whether good or evil is the greater force.
It will be interesting to see how the movie version of the MCU story turns out because we all know it will be very different from the comics.
Regardless, if Levy ends up directing the film, it would be a good choice. He has come a long way as a director over the years.
