TCG Entertainment, Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment and DC have announced that Batman, the 1989 superhero film starring Michael Keaton and conducted by Burton, will begin playing symphony halls around the world with a live orchestra starting in January 2024 as part of the DC in Concert series.
President of TCG Entertainment Stephen Cook said in a statement: “On the heels of our success with our first DC in Concert tour, we are thrilled to bring the 1989 classic “Batman” and its acclaimed soundtrack to diehard fans and new generations for the 35th anniversary of the film. We create an unforgettable concert experience and are proud of the additional creativity that the DC in Concert Series offers audiences to make the evening an epic event.”
The tour will begin at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California on January 13, 2024, before heading to the Warner Theater in Washington, DC on January 19 and Tampa, Florida’s Straz Center on January 20, 2024.
After that, the tour will continue to Jacksonville, Florida Theater in Florida on January 21, 2024, San Antonio, Majestic Theater in Texas on January 27, 2024, Atlanta, Cobb Energy Center in Georgia, February 2, 2024, Conway, at Reynolds Hall in Arkansas on January 21, 2024. February 3, 2024, Flint, Michigan’s Whiting Auditorium on February 24, 2024, Newark, New Jersey’s NJPAC on March 2, 2024, Orlando, Florida’s Dr. Phillips Hall on the 9th March 2024, Portland, Oregon’s Keller Auditorium on March 30, 2024 and Kansas City, Missouri’s Kansas City Music Hall on April 27, 2024.
The tour will then head overseas to Le Grand Rex France in Paris on 24 May 2024, and to the Barbican Center in London on 26 May 2024. Further dates and venues will be announced at a later date.
With a score composed by Danny Elfman, Batman originally hit theaters in June 1989. Along with Keaton, the film stars Jack Nicholson as Jack Napier/Joker, Kim Basinger as Vicki Vale, Pat Hingle in the role of Commissioner Gordon, Billy Dee Williams as Harvey Dent, and Michael Gough as Alfred Pennyworth.
