Legendary action star Arnold Schwarzenegger recently revealed that he almost died from complications of heart surgery. The actor underwent surgery to replace a heart valve and at one point he started bleeding unexpectedly and the doctors had to “cut me open very quickly to save my life.”
Schwarzenegger recently opened up about his experience in a video shared on YouTube and explained how scary an experience it was for him. He said:
“I was really freaking out. I woke up and all of a sudden the doctors were in front of me saying, ‘I’m so sorry but it was different than what we planned.’ [They said], “We made a mistake and pierced the heart wall” and I had to open up very quickly. The bottom line is that it is not possible to turn back the clock. I was in the middle of a disaster. So now how do I get out? You have to change gears. Gather yourself, shift gears and say, ‘Okay, what I have to do now is get out of this hospital.'”
What a nightmare experience that must have been. Luckily, doctors were able to fix the problem and prevent Schwarzenegger from dying. He went on to talk about the process he went through to actually get out of the hospital and back into training. It’s really inspiring stuff!
The actor went on to make several other projects including the fantastic Netflix action series Fubar. It seems like the guy has a lot more going on in life before the time comes than he does.
