Warner Bros. has released a new promotional video for The nun 2 which features the cast and crew, including producer James Wan, as they talk about 10 years The summoning universe and the thread that binds all the films together.
It is explained that this film “really starts to connect the characters The summoning universe.” Wan also says he hopes to bring The Nun’s story full circle and bring her back into it The summoning.
The story of this upcoming film is set in 1956 France. “A priest is murdered. An evil is spreading. The sequel to the global hit follows Sister Irene as she once again comes face to face with Valak, the demon nun.
Later, there is a series of murders in the Vatican and the church believes Valak is the cause. Then they call Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) to help and face the nun again. Sister Irene is attempting to live a rather anonymous life in a convent in Italy, but things don’t go so well when Valak now possesses Irene’s friend Maurice.Jonas Bloquet).
The director of the film, Michael Chaves, had previously explained that Sister Irene “had this traumatic experience, this great adventure, and now she wants to live a life of service. Maurice has arrived in France and works in this boarding school as a kind of handyman. He has a friendship and flirtation with one of the teachers there, and you can see him starting to mature, so that’s where our characters start. But we know from the first film that there is something terrible inside him, that Valak has escaped inside him, and events put Irene back on a collision course with her old friend.”
The film is also the protagonist Storm Reid (The Last of Us), Anna Popplewell (The Chronicles of Narnia) AND Bonnie Aarons (The nun).
The nun 2 will be released in theaters on September 8.
