BULLET TRAIN Filmmakers David Leitch and Kelly McCormick to make ACTION documentary series about stuntmen

Universal Pictures is partnering with High speed train director David Leitch and producer Kelly McCormick to make a documentary series entitled Action. The documentary series “follows elite stunt performers as they push themselves to the limit and risk personal sacrifice for professional success and aims to capture their real lives.” It will feature exclusive behind-the-scenes access to some of Hollywood’s greatest film sets, including “The Fall Guy,” directed by Leitch and produced by McCormick, a film that celebrates these talented individuals as the crew goes about their jobs as stunt doubles, coordinators and second unit directors on set.

The series, which is currently in post-production, will be produced through Leitch and McCormick’s production and action design company, 87North.

Leitch said of the project:

“My first loves are action movies, and the backbone of that genre is stuntmen who bring their kinetic magic to the screen. Kelly and I are thrilled to finally shine a spotlight on these unsung and unseen heroes of Hollywood and celebrate the stunt community with Action.

Helen Parker, executive vice president of Universal Pictures Content Group, added: “There is absolutely no-one better to work with when it comes to stunt and action films, so we are thrilled that David and Kelly have been willing to secure an such unprecedented access to the lives of their incredible teams who are unequivocally the best in the business. This documentary series offers a fascinating look at the people behind the action; we will meet some extraordinary characters and discover what brought them to Hollywood and what they had to sacrifice to achieve success.

It looks like it will be a lot of fun! Hollywood stuntmen are a fantastic crew who throw big parties to bring us the action movies we love. It will be nice to see how it all turns out.
