A trailer for the intense thriller has been released Street of Mercydirected by the director John Curran from a screenplay co-written by Curran, Jesse HeffringAND Christopher Lee Pelletier. The film is the protagonist Luke Bracey as a man who commits an impulsive and vicious crime. In this final journey to redemption, he soon learns how far he’s willing to go to save his son. It’s also in the cast Huw Higginson, Susie Porter, Alex Malone, Martha Kate MorganAND Toby Jones.
The synopsis of the film reads:
Pushed to the brink and the edge of sanity, single father Tom discovers how far he must go to protect what matters most to him. His daughter Ruby has been kidnapped and to rescue her he must perform a series of tasks as directed by a voice disembodied and psychopathic on the other end of a phone call.Fighting against near-impossible odds, Tom realizes that the very ransom he’s being asked of is a piece of his own soul.
It looks like a cutting-edge film that will keep us puzzled. Reminds me of the 2013 movie Lockehero Tom Hardy, also set in a vehicle, centers on a man and a series of phone calls that alter his future. I think this will also take us on a wild ride. Check out the trailer and movie poster below and watch Street of Mercy in selected theaters on August 24, opening later this year.
