Apple studios has announced that instead of a limited release or a dual theatrical and streaming release, they will be moving forward with a worldwide theatrical release for the highly anticipated film. Martin Scorsese-direct film, The flower moon killers. Based on David Grannthe book of, Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBIthe film is set in 1920s Oklahoma and depicts the serial murder of members of the oil-rich Osage Nation, a series of brutal crimes that became known as the Reign of Terror.
Leonardo Dicaprio she stars in the film as Ernest Burkhart, and joins him Lily Gladstone as Mollie Burkhart, an Osage married to Ernest, the granddaughter of a powerful local rancher, played by Robert DeNiro. Brendan Fraser (The Mummy) AND Jesse Plemon (Horn) also star in the film. The synopsis reads:
In the late nineteenth century, the Osage Indians were driven out into a supposedly worthless stretch of land in northeastern Oklahoma. But it turned out that their turf sat atop one of the largest oil fields in the United States; to get that oil, prospectors had to pay the tribe rents and royalties. By the 1920s, members of the Osage Nation had become the richest people per capita in the world. And then the Osage began to die under mysterious circumstances.
The flower moon killers will hit theaters on October 20, with the streaming debut on Apple TV+ to follow at an unspecified date.
