The first season of the HBO series adaptation of The Last of Us it was damn awesome and there is still a lot of story to tell for that series. But there’s definitely room for spinoffs, if that’s something the creative team is willing to do. Apparently, they are not against it.
Showrunners Craig Mazin AND Neil Druckmann He recently spoke to The Wrap about the show and when asked about the possibility of spin-off shows, Mazin said:
“We haven’t talked about it specifically because we’re so focused on just telling the main storyline. I’m not against the idea of other shows that could draw on these characters or that world. I don’t know how much else I personally would be able to do The Last of Us. I mean, these shows are so big, I’m almost burning up one of the precious few decades I have left to tell this story. But in principle, I have no problem with anything. And I’m sure Neil would be interested, too. “
Mazin went on to say that the story any spinoff would tell should make sense. He said:
“If there was something that made sense, then I don’t see why not. My great hope is that if there is something like that, it’s done with the same care, respect and love that we’re applying to this series. ” Now.”
The big question is: if there was a spin-off series, what would you like it to focus on? What part of this story or world would you like to be explored more and expanded?
