A John Lennon The biopic is said to be in development, with Craig Gillespie (Lars and the real girl, I, Tony, Cruella) attached as the film’s director. Source World of Reel says a new casting has been launched for “a Caucasian actor in his mid-30s with the ability to sing, have moderate experience playing guitar, and be comfortable with nudity.”
The source says, “The film will focus on the immediate aftermath of the Beatles’ breakup, addressing Lennon’s solo career and his relationship with Yoko Ono,” and Ono is said to be a consultant and producer on the project.
There have been other movies that we’ve seen starring Lennon, but it would be nice to see a full biopic of the musician and activist’s life, especially in the years between his departure from the Beatles until his death. He’s so loved to this day, this would definitely be a movie that people would want to see. We will keep you updated on the development of the project.
