John Cena AND Alison Brie have teamed up for a new action comedy film project titled Freelance. The film centers on a former special forces agent who, despite having a boring job, takes on a freelance security project that ends up throwing him into a dangerous adventure. It looks like the film will provide fun and action-packed entertainment.
The synopsis reads: “Former Special Forces agent Mason Pettis (Cena) is stuck in a dead-end office job when he reluctantly accepts a freelance assignment to provide private security for down-and-out reporter Claire Wellington (Brie) as she interviews the ruthless but impeccably dressed dictator Juan Venegas (Juan Pablo Raba). When a military coup breaks out just as she’s about to get the scoop of her life, the unlikely trio must figure out how to survive the jungle AND each other to make it out alive!”
The film was directed by Pierre Morel (Got it, Peppermint) and is also the protagonist Christian Slater AND Alice Eve. Freelance will be released in theaters on October 6, 2023 by Relativity Media.
