As promised, Netflix has released the first trailer Zack Snyder’S Star Wars-inspired movie rebel moon, and this movie looks pretty awesome! This is largely a Snyder film as his signature style is present throughout this trailer. As expected, the movie will be visually stunning and it looks like it will tell a solid story too! You can definitely see the Star Wars influences, but this is 100% Snyder branding and I’m excited to watch it!
The story follows a group of rebel rebels who rise up to fight against a gigantic evil empire. It is set in a “peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical regent Balisarius. They send a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from nearby planets to help them make a stand against the Tyrant.
Snyder previously spoke about the project, saying, “This is me growing up as a fan of Akira Kurosawa, a Star Wars fan. It’s my love of sci-fi and a giant adventure. My hope is that this too becomes a huge IP and a universe that can be built.”
This is a two part film and each part will have an R-rated edition for fans to watch as well. The film is the protagonist Charlie Hunnam, Ed Skrein, Bae Doona, Djimon Hounsou. Ray Fisher, Jena Malone, Ed Skrein, Stuart Martin, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, Michiel Huismann, Anthony Hopkins, AND Alfonso Herrera.
The first part of Rebel Moon will arrive on Netflix on December 22 after a limited theatrical release.
