Mattel opens Arizona Adventure Theme Park with Barbie Beach House and Hot Wheels Roller Coaster

Mattel is creating a new theme park in Arizona called Mattel Adventure Park, complete with a Barbie beach house complete with a magical Barbie closet and an attraction called Hot Wheels Bone Shaker: The Ultimate Ride roller coaster. There will also be attractions associated with Masters of the Universe and Thomas & Friends.

Julie Freeland, Senior Director of Global Location Based Entertainment at Mattel, said in a press release:

“Mattel Adventure Park is an incredible opportunity to bring our beloved brands to life. Construction is underway and substantial progress has been made on what will provide fans of all ages with a day of excitement and nostalgia. We are especially excited that the families can experience the Hot Wheels Bone Shaker roller coaster – a dream come true for any Hot Wheels fan.”

Located at the VAI Resort in Glendale, Arizona near Cardinals Stadium, park-goers can enjoy a unique indoor/outdoor setting year-round at the massive 9-acre destination.

The life-sized Barbie Beach House is perfect for fans who want a sneak peek into Barbie’s closet and can even see her up close thanks to the attraction’s hologram technology. The house also offers a rooftop bar and restaurant where families and friends can enjoy panoramic views of the resort.

Meanwhile, Hot Wheels lovers can get a thrill on Bone Shaker: The Ultimate Ride, a roller coaster that takes riders 84 feet tall. After that, they can continue pumping adrenaline on the double-ride Twin Mill Racer roller coaster. Along with Barbie and Hot Wheels, a Thomas & Friends: World of Sodor attraction will be a staple for families and young adventurers. Other park features include a 4,500-square-foot laser tag arena inspired by Masters of the Universe and a themed mini-golf experience that draws from beloved Mattel games like UNO, Pictionary, and Magic 8 Ball.

After a long day at the park, visitors can unwind at VAI Resort’s Konos Island, a man-made feature that recreates a Greek or Mexican vacation with its white-sand beaches and sumptuous cuisine. Guests can also enjoy sweeping views of the Phoenix Valley in a tethered hot air balloon that reaches up to 400 feet. After their breathtaking ride, they can then stop by the Konos Sky Bar to share a drink 130 feet up.

It looks really cool! I can’t wait to check out this park and my kids are thrilled too. Mattel Adventure Park will open its doors in 2024.
