Women had to be creative.
As you know, personal life in the USSR was not public. It is believed that there was no intimacy in the Union. But even at that time, girls wanted to be beautiful and desirable.
Fashion historian Alexander Vasiliev explained how the beauties of the past got out of the situation. The expert noted that women ordered boudoir items exclusively from seamstresses. After all, rough, factory-made shirts with a straight silhouette could not show all curves optimally.
“Things with spice, and especially with an element of eroticism. For example, ladies want to open their backs (this is already an element of eroticism, right?), make a deeper neckline or a shorter skirt, show their knees so that their man or lover somehow cheers up – it was always very difficult . That is why seamstresses existed for this, such things were ordered from them, ”said the fashion guru in the new edition of the Legend program on RTVI.
