Warner Bros. Animation has released a Red-Band trailer for the upcoming film Mortal combat cartoon movie Mortal Kombat Legends: Cage Match, which is the fourth film in the Mortal Kombat Legends animated film series. The other films include Battle of the Realms, Scorpion’s RevengeAND Snow blind.
The upcoming film is set in 1980s Hollywood and centers on action star Johnny Cage, voiced by Joel McHale. In the story, Cage is trying to become an A-list actor. “But when his costar Jennifer disappears from the set, Johnny finds himself thrust into a world full of shadows, danger and deception. As he embarks on a bloody journey, Johnny quickly discovers that the City of Angels has several devils within it. He faces off against a sinister secret society plotting a nefarious plan, but the brutal fight against the bloodthirsty warriors of the Netherrealm is only just beginning. Will Johnny and other Mortal Kombat legends be able to save humanity… and, above all, his career?
The film was directed by Ethan Spaulding (Son of Batman, Batman: Assault on Arkham, Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, Scooby-Doo: Return to Zombie Island) and the voice cast also includes the late Gilbert Gottfried in his last role, Dusan Brown, Gray Delisle, Robin Atkin Downes, Zehra Fazal, Kelly Hu, Phil LaMarrAND Jennifer Grey like herself.
Mortal Kombat Legends: Cage Match will be released directly to VOD/DVD on October 17, 2023.
