Bleecker Street has a delightful trailer for a new sci-fi drama titled Giulio. The film is the protagonist Ben Kingsley as a lonely man who befriends an alien after his spaceship crashes in his backyard. The film is described as “a wildly inventive and entertaining ride as the three neighbors find meaning and connection later in life, thanks to this unlikely stranger.”
It’s kind of like ET but instead of an alien connecting with a baby, it’s an alien connecting with an old man. It really seems to tell a fascinating story!
Kingsley plays Milton, “who lives a quiet, routine life in a small western Pennsylvania town, but finds his day upended when a UFO and its extraterrestrial passenger crash-land in his backyard. Before long, Milton develops a close relationship with the extraterrestrial he names Jules. Things get even more complicated when his neighbors discover Jules and the government quickly closes in.
The film was directed by Marc Turtletaub (Gods misbehave), and is also the protagonist Harriet Sansom Harris, Zoe Winters, Jane CurtiNo, Donald Paul, JeffKimAND Quon Jade like Julius. Bleecker Street will come out Giulio in theaters August 11, 2023.
