THE Stranger things the franchise is expanding with an upcoming stage play titled Stranger Things: The First Shadow, who will continue to explore the supernatural universe. A promotional teaser for the show has been released which says that the show will contain clues about the final season of the official series.

The story of the play is a prequel set in 1959 and takes place “before the world turned upside down”. The game comes from the creators of the series The Duffer Brothersnext to Jack Thorne AND Kate Trefry.

The synopsis reads: “Hawkins, 1959: an ordinary town with regular worries. Young Jim Hopper’s car won’t start, Bob Newby’s sister won’t take her radio show seriously, and Joyce Maldonado just wants to graduate high school and get out of town. When new student Henry Creel arrives, his family discovers that a new beginning is not so easy … and the shadows of the past have a very long reach.

It is explained that this “gripping new adventure will take you back to the beginning of the Stranger Things story and may hold the key to the end.” It will be interesting to see what all the fuss is about, but for those who don’t get the opportunity to see the show, I’m sure it won’t matter much when you watch season five. But it will be a bonus for fans who get to see it.

The Duffer Brothers say so in a note. “We are beyond excited Stranger Things: The First Shadow. Collaborating with the brilliant Stephen Daldry has been nothing short of inspiring and Kate Trefry has written a play that is by turns startling, frightening and heartfelt. You will meet captivating new characters, as well as very familiar characters, in a journey into the past that sets the stage for the future of Stranger Things. We can’t wait to tell you more about the story, but we won’t – it’s more fun to find out for yourself. Can’t wait to see you nerds in London!”
