Secret invasion Episode 3 recently released as Nick Fury (Samuel L.Jackson) and Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) are racing against time to prevent a third world war, the evil Skrull Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir) seemed to have leveled up in a big way, and something that will aid him in his efforts to start a war and take over the world… as a Super Skrull. If you haven’t seen the episode yet, you might want to skip this one as there are spoilers ahead.
It looks like the Super Skrulls are coming to the MCU and it’s all thanks to a storyline that started in Iron man 3. Remember the Extremis virus used by Aldrich Killian to help him fight Tony Stark? Well, looks like Gravik injected himself with a version of the Extremis virus.
The Extremis virus grants the host superpowers including healing, heat powers such as fire breath, and enhanced strength. In Iron man 3 the Extremis virus was very unstable and hosts often exploded because they could not handle the virus.
The virus was introduced in Secret Invasion with G’iah (Emilia Clarke) looking for data on Rosa Dalton, who was a scientist, and which led her to a catalog that includes information about the Extremis virus. It’s clear that the enemy Skrulls want to be stronger and the Extremis Virus is their answer. Maybe the virus will be more stable inside a Skrull host.
Things are sure to get interesting in the MCU with super-powered Skrulls running around! The question is… will Nick Fury be able to stop them?
