Christian Bale reportedly refused to appear as Batman in THE FLASH

Kevin Smith recently revealed during a panel that Cristiano Bale it has been reported that he has been asked to appear as Batman in The flash, but he refused to do it. It was just going to be a cameo role, but the interest in doing that obviously wasn’t there.

Smith’s quote enters spoiler territory, so if you haven’t seen the movie, stop reading now.

“Warner Bros. asked Christian Bale for months on end hoping he would collapse and he said ‘no’. SO [Warner Bros.] he was like, ‘Let’s pivot, get another Batman,’ and they just got George Clooney.”

If you’ve seen the movie, you know the exact scene he’s talking about at the end of the movie. THE George Clooney instead the scene could have been Bale. I don’t blame Bale for saying no all the time, it would have been funny, but in the end it wouldn’t have really mattered.

The movie is doing booming at the box office, and you can bet Warner Bros. won’t make that sequel Andy Muschietti has teased in the past.

Bale had previously spoken of the possibility of reprising his role, saying, “If Chris [Nolan] he came up to me and said, ‘I have a new story’, I’d be interested. But other than that, I don’t think so.

While The Flash was a very entertaining film, it ended up being something of a throwaway film as none of it will likely carry over into DC Studios’ future plans. I’ll be shocked if it does.

The flash especially features Michael Keatonis Batman in action, with a bit of Ben AffleckThe version of the Dark Knight introduced at the beginning of the story. Then, there’s just that quick scene at the end of the movie with Clooney.

What do you think about Bale being asked to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne on The Flash and turning it down?
