In the summer of 1997, the MTV series Motel California filmed four videos showcasing the classic fantasy card game Magic: the gathering. There are four videos to watch and they are damn funny.
The video aired on TV between regular programming and acted as both an advertisement for the game and an “Invitational” with seasoned players at the time which included Mike Long, Brian Hacker, Mark JusticeAND Shawn “Hammer” Regnier.
What makes these videos so entertaining is that the invite is a hip beach setting, with terrible acting for the people in attendance who have probably never even heard of Magic: The Gathering before shooting the videos. You know, people like MTV.
