Here is a trailer for an upcoming psychological horror thriller titled Tearsuckerwho is said to deliver “dynamic performances and dramatic shifts in tone that would make even David Lynch squirm”.
The film tells the dark and surreal story of “emotionally vulnerable women who are preyed upon by a handsome psychopath who wants to suck out their tears. The main character, Lilly (AllisonWalter), is an emotionally vulnerable trauma survivor who is desperate to heal and move on with her life. Despite the support of her best friend Deb (Danielle Macrae Spisso), Lilly is completely isolated. When she meets a handsome stranger, Tom (Sam Brittan), at the park, feels hope for the first time in months. Tom drives Lilly crazy and invites her to a romantic weekend. However, things take an ominous turn when Lily discovers that Tom has an unusual appetite for tears… and he will stop at nothing to get them.
The film was directed by Stephen Vanderpool from a script written by Sam Brittan. Brittan is also the lead actor in the film and said: “Tearsucker is a unique and layered film, designed to both entertain and provoke discussion. While the film is stylish, super funny, and creepy as hell, it also grapples with very real themes of trauma and abuse, so every person who watches it will experience the film in their own way.
Freestyle Digital Media has acquired the VOD rights for North America Tearsucker. The film will be available to rent/purchase on all HD Internet, cable and satellite digital platforms, as well as DVD, starting July 7, 2023.
