Halle Bailey’s Princess Ariel enters the small screen with an animated series for children! Following the successful premiere of the live-action The Little Mermaid in 2023, Disney Branded Television has decided to bring this gripping story starring Halle Bailey to television in the form of a fascinating animated series.
The exciting news was announced during the Annecy Animation Festival where it was revealed The Disney Juniors will be in charge to make possible this production aimed at a pre-school audience. And when will we be able to enjoy the underwater adventures of Ariel and her friends? According to the project plans, The animated series will debut on Disney in 2024.which gives us some time to dream of the oceans and look forward to this new chapter in the life of the beloved princess.
The goal of the animated series is to keep the essence of already known characters, such as Sebastian, Flounder, King Triton and Ursulaand take Ariel on new and exciting journeys. The plot will revolve around the concerns of the curious and courageous Ariel, that she will discover earthly treasures such as a rubber duck or a hat, which she will lovingly keep in her crystal cave.

Disney Junior’s Ariel will be very inclusive
Alyssa Sapire, Senior Vice President of Development, Series and Strategy for Disney Junior, shared some details about this exciting project. “While we were developing Disney Junior’s Arielwe knew we wanted to create a vibrant and magical atmosphere that reflected our little Ariel’s big imagination.”
