Mads Mikkelsen wants even more HANNIBAL and says ‘It’s all about finding him a home’

Bryan Fullershort-lived NBC series Hannibal it was such a good show, and it’s a story that many fans would like to see continue. Even his star Mads Mikkelsen he wants more and is ready to return to the role of Hannibal Lecter if that ever happens.

While on the red carpet for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Mikkelsen has been asked about Hannibal’s return, and he says that while there’s a chance it could happen, it has to happen sooner rather than later. He said:

“Always a chance…there’s always a chance. It’s just about finding him a home. Obviously time is running out. We can’t wait 20 years… but in the next two years, if someone finds a home, we’re all ready to take it back.”

NBC pulled the plug on the show in 2015, but it’s something Mikkelsen has been wanting to get back to. He explained in a previous interview that if they were to make a fourth season of Hannibal, he would like to immerse himself in the most iconic story of Hannibal Lecter, The silence of the lambswhich is the direction the series was heading in, so it would make sense to tell some sort of version of that story.

“I don’t think it’s a secret that, if it were to happen, we would like to get into The Silence of the Lambs. This has always been a problem because they didn’t have the rights to that book. But that’s obviously the most famous part and we’d love to get into that.”

A few years ago, Fuller offered an update on Hannibal’s return by saying, “No one’s given up! I’ve made it clear that I want to do it, the cast wants to do it, and Martha wants to do it. We just need a network or streaming service that wants to do it too. I don’t think there is a clock or expiration date for the idea. We just need someone to bite.

It’s crazy to me that no one got on board to make this happen!
