LORD OF THE RINGS: WAR OF THE ROHIRRIM Anime Film Reactions Surface

Warner Bros. Animation has screened the first footage of its highly anticipated anime film The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim produced by New Line Cinema. This is a project that I was very excited about and I would like to be able to see the footage that was shown at the Annecy Film Festival. But we have some reactions from people who were there to share with you.

The story is set two centuries before the events of JRRTolkien’S The Hobbit AND The Lord of the Ringsand “will explore the exploits of Helm Hammerhand, the king of Rohan, and the creation of Helm’s Deep, the stronghold.”

The film is set 183 years before the events of the original film trilogy. “A sudden attack by Wulf, a cunning and ruthless Dunland lord seeking vengeance for his father’s death, forces Helm and his people to make a daring last stand in the ancient stronghold of Hornburg, a mighty fortress that in it will later become known as Helm’s Deep. Finding herself in an increasingly desperate situation, Helm’s daughter Hera must muster the will to lead the resistance against a deadly enemy bent on their utter destruction.

Kenji Kamiyama (Blade Runner: Black Lotus AND Ghost in the Shell: Self contained complex) is directing the film and will be produced by Joseph Chou through his anime studio Sola Entertainment.

The War of the Rohirrim “will draw much of its creative DNA from Jackson’s six features set in Middle-earth”. Philippa Boyenswho was part of the writing team of The Lord of the Rings AND The Hobbit trilogies, is executive producer of the film. He previously said, “I’m in awe of the creative talent that has come together to bring this heart-pounding, epic story to life, from Kenji Kamiyama’s craftsmanship to a truly stellar cast.”

Judging by the reactions, it seems that the creative team behind the film has done something very special, something that fans of The Lord of the Rings will enjoy. Here are some of the reactions:

Translation: “Two scenes were shown (one of them, the opening, unfinished) and the producers commented on the importance of trying to merge the world of the Lord of the Rings movies with that of anime. And it was really an interesting combination. Reminded me a bit of Castlevania #TheWarOfTheRohirrim”

Translation: “I wipe my wet eyes, wipe all these pages of notes and tell you that #WarOfTheRohirrim is in very good hands.”

That cast will be revealed at a later date. Phoebe GittinsBoyens’ daughter and writing partner Arty Papageorgiou they are writing the recent draft of the screenplay, which he worked on previously Jeffrey Addis AND Will Matthews. The rest of the creative team includes Richard Taylorwho won the Academy Award for makeup and visual effects for the films of Jackson, and illustrator of Tolkien John Howe.

Brian Cox will provide the voice of Helm Hammerhand, the mighty king of Rohan, who is a character in Tolkien’s book appendix. He is joined by Wise Gaia AND Miranda Otto, who will reprise her role as Éowyn, Shieldmaiden of Rohan, from the original trilogy. She will serve as the narrator of the tale.

Boyens explained that the film tells a story that is a “very human and political struggle”. He went on to say that the movie “isn’t about the Ring, it’s not about the Dark Lord. All of this is very peripheral to the story.

One of the things she was drawn to in the story was the examination of honor and revenge and family ties, on both sides. “For Helm, there is the madness born of grief over the loss of the child. With Wulf, there is her relationship with her father and with Héra.

The story will also include the Dunlendings’ historical complaints that the lords of Gondor gave what the Dunlendings believed to be their land to the Rohirrim.
