A madman Titanic fan has collected 1,560 VHS copies of James Cameronit’s the Oscar-winning film and it won’t stop until it hits a million.
The fan’s name is JD and titanicfan97 on TikTok where he shares many videos showcasing his insane collection. He recently spoke to Variety about his collection, where he reveals that other fans around the world are sending him all kinds of Titanic stuff like a crochet Jack Dawson and even a piece from a deck chair aboard the ship. real ship. He said:
“In 2012, we pulled a few copies. The store had them on display on the top shelf, so it looked glorious. And I’m like, ‘I know no one is ever going to buy these.’ They’re super cheap, so we took a box and filled it with all the Titanic’s, and slowly started collecting them for a few years. We had about 100 before I started making TikTok, so it was really last year when we went from 100 to about 1,560. It just blew up on its own. I have no control at this point.”
He went on to say that his goal is 1,997 copies, to commemorate the year the film was released, but he also hopes to hit a million.
“They made 25 million. So at least a million copies… I think I can get that many back.”
