Anthony Hopkins was a great choice to play the role of Odin in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He appeared in Thor, Thor: The Dark Worldand they killed his character Thor: Ragnarok.
During a recent interview with The New Yorker, the Oscar-winning actor talked about his time working on those Marvel movies and wasn’t really impressed with it all. In fact, he called it “useless acting” because “no acting was required.” He said:
“They put me in armour; they gave me a beard. Sit on the throne; shout a little. If you’re sitting in front of a green screen, there’s no point in acting it out.
Yes, I can see where that’s coming from, but there’s no doubt he was paid a lot of money for all that pointless acting! This is one of the perks of subscribing to these big budget movies! They might not be a challenge for these amazing experienced actors, but hopefully they at least had fun doing it!
