One of my favorite series of the last couple of years is the HBO comedy Someone somewhere. The series stars a comedian Bridget Everett as Sam, a middle-aged woman who returns to her family home in Kansas following the death of her sister, Holly. She reunites with high school friend Joel, played by the more handsome Jeff Hillerand tries to deal with her family drama while figuring out her next steps in life.
Season 2 just wrapped and was as hilarious and heartfelt as the first, with Sam helping his sister Tricia pick up the pieces of her life after their divorce, changing jobs, and watching her daughter go to college. Now, HBO has announced that we’re getting a third season and I’m so excited! The short seasons full of half hour episodes fly by, so I’m hoping for a big third installment. We deserve it.
If you’re not up to date yet, the first two seasons of Someone somewhere are available to watch on Max now. Season 3 is expected to arrive on HBO next year.
