There is another Amityville horror recently released on Tubi titled The Curse of Amityvilleand is an adaptation of Hans Holzer of 1981 of the same name. That book also inspired the 1990 film, also titled The Curse of Amityville.
It is explained that “the new adaptation of Hans Holzer’s novel is a modern take on the ever-popular franchise with a fictionalized story that stays true to the novel.” In the story, “A group of friends buy a notorious house with the intention of turning it upside down, only to discover a deadly paranormal presence bent on destruction.”
The film was adapted from Dennis Heaton (Reason) and directed by Éric Tessier (You will remember me), with Graham Ludlow (Terror train), Kaleigh Kavanagh (Terror train), Brook Peters (Terror train) AND Shari Segal (Terror train) executive producer together with fellow author and daughter of Hans Holzer, Alexandra Holzerwhose “contribution to the film pays homage to continuing the authenticity and legacy of his father’s work.”
Check out the trailer, and if you want to see the movie, it’s out now on Tubi. But it doesn’t look good.
