Thanks to Empire Magazine we have a new photo to share with you from Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: Ahsoka along with some new details about the history of the series. The image above features Rosario Dawson like Ahsoka e Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren.

In the series, Sabine is still very dedicated to finding Ezra Bridger who has departed to an unknown location with the sinister Grand Admiral Thrawn. Bordizzo spoke about her character arc on the series, saying:

“He feels obligated to her. When they liberated Lothal, she was granted this hero status. But she doesn’t feel like she earned this because she lost her friend in that whole debacle. She’s just focused on her promise to find him.

Dave Filoni also offered some insights into the epilogue in Rebels, saying:

“Even the moment I did the Rebels epilogue, I felt like, ‘If I’m going to go through with this, this has got to be challenging in another way. And the challenge would be live-action. I wanted to fix these things with [Ahsoka]but i wanted to do something new with it.

I love that this series will pretty much pick up where Rebels left off, and then begin the quest for Ezra Bridger.

The series is set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka “follows former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) while investigating an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

Ahsoka and Sabine search for Grand Admiral Thrawn in hopes that he will lead them to find the lost Ezra Bridger. Mary Elizabeth Winstead he’s also set to star in the series and will play Hera Syndulla, and the droid, Chopper, also returns.

Also, we have Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, Ivanna Sakhno, Eman Esfandi like EzraAND Ray Stevenson. The limited series is written by Dave Filoni which produces executive along with Jon Favreau AND Kathleen Kennedy.

The series will debut exclusively on Disney+ in August 2023.
