Let’s talk about that amazing cameo in SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE

Spider-Man: Through the Spider-Verse it’s jam-packed with over 280 Spider-Man characters, and that means there were plenty of short, interesting cameos. But there was one cameo that stood out more than the others, it’s a cameo that surprised many fans at the theater, and if you haven’t seen the movie yet, you might want to stop reading now because I’m about to get into spoiler territory.

During the story, Miles Morales is introduced to the Spider-Society on Earth-928, which not only saw him encounter hundreds of variations of Spider-Man, but also included various villains who had left their own worlds and created anomalies elsewhere.

It’s during a scene where Miles walks through various caged villains that we see a live-action version Donald Glove as the villain The Prowler! This was such a beautiful moment and there was a huge gasp from fans when he showed up.

Glover has already appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming as Aaron Davis, who is The Prowler’s true identity. He also referred to his off-screen nephew as “Miles,” indicating that Miles Morales exists in the MCU.

There may be an increasingly deeper and more interesting meaning to Glover’s The Prowler appearing in the film, and his appearance may have hinted at what we were going to see happen by the end of the film.

During the film’s final act, Miles ended up on Earth-42, which is a universe that never had a Spider-Man because Alchemax brought that universe’s radioactive spider into “our” Miles’ world. Then, it was revealed on Earth-42 that their miles are The Prowler.

So how does Glover connect with this? How could his appearance have made you understand that revelation? Well, Glover has been linked to the role of Miles Morales for years, he was even teased on an episode of Community. The actor also voiced the character in the Disney animated series Ultimate Spider-Man.

In Through the Spider-VerseGlover is definitely the MCU version of Aaron Davis, but Glover, who played Miles in the past, has become the Prowler. I guess it’s possible that since Glover is also Miles Morales in these other projects, someone in his world interrupted a Canon Event.

It might be a stretch, but I thought it was worth mentioning. Regardless, it was still great to see Glover appear in the film! What do you think of the look of him!?
