Recently, sporting events are increasingly entering into social life. And of course, as people who are interested in both, we can’t help but rejoice. In addition, if earlier sports stars skipped public events, now they are even involved in the creation of contemporary art objects, such as murals.
The fact is that on May 30, a graffiti presentation dedicated to combining the power of sports and art took place at the DEPO food mall. The initiator of its creation was the Winline company, in which athletes from different disciplines participated in the work of murals: football players Andrey Arshavin, Georgy Jikia and Alexander Sobolev, hockey players Danis Zaripov, Anton Burdasov, Nikita Setdikov, basketball players Semyon Antonov, Sergey Monya, Stanislav Ilnitsky and cyber broadcaster Vyacheslav Leontiev ( booster).

“Where is the art, where is the sport!” you say. However, Winline proves otherwise. As company representatives explain, the concept of graffiti is meant to visualize the power of the game, the ability of athletes to overcome obstacles and go beyond the ordinary. And if not the stars of Russian sports, who will catch their strength on the wall?

In the process of preparing the graffiti, the athletes, under the guidance of the author, alternately hit the wall of the food shopping center with paint. “WAREHOUSE». Based on these, artist Danila Shozy created a mural that took a week to complete.
But for some athletes, such studies were not new. This was learned at a press conference as part of the mural’s grand unveiling. As Giorgi Jikia admits, he was into street art in his youth. True, it was at the level of entertainment.

“I am from the city of Balashikha where we are doing graffiti. True, it was a long time ago and at the level of children’s entertainment. Now it’s hard to even remember what exactly we drew. But it was an experience, so I was very happy to work on the mural.” – Georgiy Jikia shared his impressions.
But Andrei Arshavin had to work with paint for the first time. And something tells us that this is the case when the first pancake wasn’t lumpy at all.

“I welcomed the opportunity to take part in a project where sports and art intersect with great interest. The creation of the mural united several athletes at once – We are different and represent different disciplines, but we are all united by a common impulse and Shozy was able to feel and embody it in an incredible way”, – Adopted Andrey Arshavin.
Under the impression, which, of course, is not surprising, the artist Danila Shozy himself remained. Collaboration with Winline no longer graces the main lifestyle venue in Moscow, but collaboration with Russian sports stars is also a great experience for the piggy bank.

“Working with athletes at such a high level has been incredibly interesting and inspiring. – I took a charge of energy that I carried throughout the entire process of creating the mural, and I drove from them. Combining the 3D technique with ready-made elements in the final drawing was an interesting challenge and I think the result was successful”, – Danila Shozy shared his impressions.
Not all athletes who contributed to the commemorative lottery attended the grand opening of the mural – education always comes first. But most of them still reached “DEPO”. Among them were Alexander Sobolev, Nikita Setdikov, Semyon Antonov and Buster.
