Jon Favreau Reveals Continuing Marvel Trend Suggested by Edgar Wright

Marvel movie fans will surely enjoy the post-credits scenes at the end of the movie. We all sit there as the credits roll waiting to see what the final clip will tease for the future of the franchise. Some people in the theater just get up and leave, though, which is funny because the rest of us are just sitting there going, “Where are you going!? Never been to a Marel movie before? It’s not over!”

I’ll never forget the first post-credits scene at the end of Iron man when Nick Fury shows up at Tony Stark’s house to introduce him to the Avengers initiative. It was such a beautiful scene and the hype and excitement in the theater just exploded!

Well, during a recent interview, the head of Marvel Kevin Feige and director Jon Favreau talked about how these post-credit scenes came about, and Edgar Wright’s suggestion has stuck ever since. Favreau said:

“You have two movie audiences. You have the casual movie audience that just wants to come and enjoy it. You still have to make it fun for them or someone new generation, next generation. I think you have the people who know it better than you. And how do you make it work for both? And that’s a very tricky thing.”

Discussing the Nick Fury scene, Feige added, “I would say that’s one of the reasons we put the Nick Fury tag at the end. So it wouldn’t be intrusive or disruptive to someone saying ‘Why Sam Jackson here? Because Sam Jackson is in the your living room?’ But if you’ve been waiting for those credits (you’re probably ready).”

It is at this point that the Iron Man director revealed Wright’s suggestion saying:

“As Edgar Wright suggested, until the credits end. the way.'”

Now they shoot two credits scenes, one in the middle of the credits and one at the end. What is one of your favorite Marvel post-credits scenes?
