All series and films interrupted by the writers’ strike, the conflict in Hollywood continues

After the film industry came to a standstill in 2020 due to the health contingency afflicting the world, during 2023 the big film studios started to return to normal with the launch of several major series and films, however increasing the number of premieres on the big screen, in May several productions were completely halted due to a writers’ strike.

Several weeks ago, the Dissatisfaction from the Hollywood Writers Guildbecause this union has been asking for work improvements to the big studios for some time, and it was May 2 when they decided to start the strike, thus affecting some of the series and films most awaited by the public.

At the moment, there are nearly 20 productions that are completely at a standstill in Hollywood Due to this situation, most of them are series, because until now the only tape of great interest that has stopped is ‘Lama’, produced by Marvel Studios, or in other words, is a film owned by Disney.

Among the series that have been interrupted, undoubtedly the season 3 of ‘yellow jackets’, one of the most anticipated productions by fans, as well as the new installment of ‘The Last of Us’ HBO Max, new episodes of ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ From Amazon Prime Video, Star Wars spin-offs on Disney+, ‘The Mandalorian’ 4 AND ‘Andor’ 2and the awaited new seasons of ‘Cobra Kai’ AND ‘stranger things’ on Netflix.

Are series and movies delaying their releases?

It is important to note that for the moment most of these titles do not have a delay in their estimated release dates, since they have stopped filming for about two to three weeks, however, for the moment it is not expected that this writers strike in hollywood stops early, so if this movement is extended, delays may start to confirm.

Most likely this writers’ strike will last throughout the month of May, and in June there will be another rapprochement, for now we will have to wait a little longer to see the direction this movement will take, a strike that could leave the film industry without several versions important for the months to come.
