Frankie Muniz (Malcolm in the middle) AND Violet Beane (The flash) will star in an upcoming AI sci-fi thriller titled Renner. The movie comes from Robert Ripberger (Those who leave), and it looks like it will tell an interesting story.
Renner follows “a computer genius of the same name, played by Muniz, as he tries to woo his neighbor Jamie (Beane) with the help of an artificial intelligence he develops called Salenus – only to realize, a little too much later, who accidentally programmed his manipulative mother into it.
Rippberger said in a statement, “I was immediately drawn to Martin Medina and Luke Medina’s powerful, unnerving, darkly Freudian script. I am thrilled to work with Frankie and Violett to bring Renner to the big screen for what will be a new artificial intelligence thriller.
The film was written by Martin Medina and David Largman Murray, from a story by Luke Medina. Production will begin this summer at the new Ascent Studios in Spring Hope, NC.
Muniz doesn’t actually act much these days as he is now a full-fledged NASCAR race car driver. But I think he’s cool when he tackles projects like this!
