Here is a trailer for an upcoming drama titled The prisoner’s daughterwhat stars Kate Beckinsale AND Brian Cox. The film comes from the director Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight, Lords of Dogtown, Mafia Mamma) and follows an elderly man named Max, who is out of prison with terminal cancer, and tries to reconnect with his estranged daughter and grandson he’s never known.
Prisoner’s Daughter is described as a “gritty, rowdy thriller” and follows Max (Cox)” who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and given compassionate release after 12 years in prison on the condition that he resides with his estranged daughter, Maxine (Kate Beckinsale.) As a single mom desperate for income to raise her only son, Ezra (Christopher Convery), she reluctantly agrees but has no interest in reconciling or allowing Max to have an affair with her son.
The story takes a turn for the worse as “Maxine also has to deal with Ezra’s father, Tyler (Tyson Ritter), a violent drug addict who wants more control over his son’s life. As Max looks for one last chance to redeem himself, they must come to terms with his dark and violent past that comes back to haunt them.
It looks like a beautiful and emotional film that tells a powerful story. The prisoner’s daughter will be released in theaters on June 30, 2023.
