Mega Fosterthe actress who played Evil-Lyn in the classic 1987 film He-Man Masters of the Universe is returning to franchise! She joined Netflix Masters of the Universe: Revolution animated series and will take on the role of a character called Motherboard.
Motherboard is described as “an ancient tech wizard in the fight for the soul of Eternia”. Speaking of the character she plays, Foster said:
“My part in Masters of the Universe more than 35 years ago remains one of my most cherished roles. I am both thrilled and honored to return to the fold to embody a brilliant and all-new villain who adds color to the vibrant storytelling that Kevin Smith and Mattel have brought to life for fans around the world.
You can see an image of Meg Foster alongside her character in the animated series below. Mattel Television senior vice president and general manager Fred Soulie said in a statement:
“It’s not often that original and beloved actors return to their legacy franchises, so we’re thrilled at the opportunity to welcome Meg Foster back to Eternia. Her presence in the original live-action film left an undeniable impact on fans, cementing the film in the pop culture zeitgeist for over 30 years, having her formidable work as Evil-Lyn set the stage for Meg to entrance the public. once again, now as the evil Motherboard.
Revolution tells an all-new story that “focuses on the classic rivalry between He-Man and Skeletor in a way audiences have never seen before. It’s technology versus magic as He-Man and the heroic warriors take on the forces of Skeletor and a deadly threat to the Planet in the next epic chapter in the battle for Eternia.
Masters of the Universe: Revelation is executive producer of Kevin Smith, who also serves as showrunner. The series is written by Marco Bernardino, Eric Carrara, Diya MishraAND Tim Sheridanwith Powerhouse Animation (Castlevania) set up as the animation studio for the series.
The voice cast also includes Chris Wood (Supergirl) as Prince Adam/He-Man, Mark Hammill (Star Wars) as Skeleton, Lena Heady (game of Thrones) as Skeletor’s right-hand man, Evil-Lyn, e Melissa Benoist (Supergirl) as Teela. William Shatner he also has a role that has yet to be revealed.
Masters of the Universe: Revolution will debut on Netflix in 2024.
