It’s definitely a show for the fans, but it’s also a show that my mom, who doesn’t watch Marvel, will watch and understand, you know what I mean? You can get into dangerous territory at times with this kind of genre where if you haven’t seen the other 17 movies or shows, you won’t get it. This is not that at all.”

“Secret Invasion” will be a special series in the MCU

What makes acovert invasion’ special is that it breaks with the conventions of other projects in the franchise. Don Cheadle, known for his role as James Rhodes/War Machine in the MCU, commented in a recent interview with EW that the series is more like a 1970s spy thriller than a typical Marvel Studios installment. Cheadle, who is also part of the cast, expressed:

Talk about how stretchy the MCU can be. This [serie] it feels much closer to a movie like Bourne Identity or something that’s more in the tone of a 70’s movie. It’s not so much about the bells and whistles of big special effects. It’s more about intrigue and drama, espionage and double-dealing. And I still think it fits perfectly with what the MCU is capable of doing and achieving.”

In “Secret Invasion,” Samuel L. Jackson reprises his iconic role as Nick Fury, a central character since the early days of the MCU. Additionally, we will see Emilia Clarke as G’iah, daughter of Talos, and Ben Mendelsohn as Talos. The cast also includes such talented actors as Cobie Smulders, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Olivia Colman, Don Cheadle and Martin Freeman.

Development for the series began in September 2020, and the title, premise, and Mendelsohn’s casting were revealed in December of that year. During March and April 2021, the rest of the actors joined the cast. Filming took place from September 2021 to the end of April 2022. With an extensive production process and a team of talented creators behind them, ‘Secret Invasion’ promises to be a top-notch cinematic experience.

The anticipation for this series has increased since its development was announced. Fans are excited to see how the story unfolds and what surprises it holds for them.
