Nicholas Hoult (The menu), Melissa Barrara (Scream VI), AND Wool Condor (Moonshot) will star in a new thriller inspired by the dating reality show that some people like to watch.
The film is titled The only one, and the film follows Taylor (Barrera), “who made a desperate effort to find love by becoming a contestant on a reality dating show. Now just her and two other women vying for Mason’s (Hoult) heart, Taylor begins to feel the artifice of the show wear off, and the game becomes terribly real. Between the opulent beachside setting, fairytale rendezvous and incessant champagne, the chase turns to obsession and rivalry turns to betrayal as reality itself blurs.
The only one comes from the team of writers and directors Kevin Armento AND Jaki Bradley, and shared in a statement: “We’ve been dreaming of this project for years and are thrilled to bring it to life now with our true dream team. Nick, Melissa, Riley and Lana are some of the most exciting talents around and their passion for this film, shared by our incredible producing partners, makes us all the more eager to make this nightmare a reality.
Hoult and producer Whitaker Lader he added, “We were immediately drawn to this project which we think will be equally appealing to reality TV junkies and those who think it is a blight on humanity. Jaki and Kevin’s script and vision promise a wild and delightfully dark film that will make audiences cringe, laugh and question their own complicity. Riley Keough (Daisy Jones and the six) will also produce with Gina Gammell through their production company Felix Culpa.
